Next, I am geek at heart. I love to game and am a fan of sci-fi and fantasy. I devour books and love off the wall comedies. I'll play just about anything except an FPS (first person shooter....they make me want to hurl). I LOVE my 3DS and board games, although hubs refuses to play Monopoly with me anymore. I'm REALLY, REALLY funny....but most people just don't laugh. For those that do, their laughter usually stems from pity.
I'm a DIYer. If I can make it home made for the same price or less, I will try. I also am pretty crafty, or at least I'd like to think so. I LOVE to crochet and am always looking for fun new projects. My niece is my favorite model. I also like to take pictures, and even though I am no where near professional grade, I like them. So prepare for some not that awesome pictures that I think ROCK!! I am also trying my hand at gardening/yard landscaping.....I call the combination Yardening.....it works. I'm sure I will have some awesome fails but hopefully just as many successes to share along the way.
I am a big sister to 2 pretty cool sisters and the favorite aunt of my lone niece. I homeschool my youngest sister due to a bullying issue she faced at school. It's been an adjustment, but we are learning along the way. I'm sure with some time and care she can overcome her adversities and grow into an amazing young woman with a bright future.
I am a college student at American Public University. I went to traditional college right out of high school, but life intervened. I'm back now, with a bullet and am in my third semester. I am VERY protective of my gpa and work very hard. I am an English major and am planning on using this blog as a vent and writing practice. I hope to find my own voice. One day I have dreams that the words I have put down can help inspire someone and make a difference in their life. Even if it is a small influence, to touch someone at that level should be the aspiration of every writer.
I am also a coupon queen....or diva. I have a clipping service that stemmed from all the extra coupons I had left over from my own obsession (I promise I am not that bad and only buy things I can use or share). I try and teach others how to shop a bit better and save some money without buying items just to have them (or my favorite excuse....because they had a coupon). It's about living frugally and being wise with each penny.
Last, at least for now, is that I'm overweight. Why is this last you may ask and not first....weight is important.....well it's simple. My weight does not define who I am. It does not control me and it will not rule my life. I am getting healthier with better eating habits and exercise. That is more important that any number on a scale will ever be. One of the most important things I have learned is to be yourself. So often people are shamed into feeling bad about themselves for being over weight (or under weight...it goes both ways) and they become that shame. They can't see that a number should not define who they are. I am not saying that being overweight is good, it's not. But that does not make it bad, or more importantly make anyone a bad person who is overweight.
This is all I have for now. I can not wait to share my opinions, experiences and things learned with anyone willing to listen (or read!). I hope to get feedback and opinions, even if they differ from mine. All I ask is that if you respond to myself or another poster that you do so respectfully. Thank and be awesome!!!
